She was 85. Loraine was born on March 10, 1922 to William and Marie Ehlers in Leigh, Nebraska. On January 18, 1942, she married Eugene A. Bahr. She was a member of the Wilber Lutheran Church and for twenty three years worked for the US Postal Service in Wilber. She is survived by two daughters, Judy of Spokane and Pam of Everett, seven grandchildren, Amy, Scott, Andrew, Karen, Kim, Alicia, and Kyle; and three great-grand children, Oliva, Sophia, and George. Loraine was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eugene, and daughter, Denise. Memorial services were held on Monday, January 21, 2008 at Wilber Lutheran Church. Death was due to heart trouble from which she had suffered for many years. She had been in poor health much of her life, and her condition became serious about two months ago. After spending six weeks in the hospital here, she was able to be removed to the home of her son, Charles, near Leigh, but there she was confined to her bed most of the time. Last Thursday, following a relapse, she was again taken to the hospital. Her condition became critical Saturday and death came Sunday morning. The funeral will be held from the home of Charles Grotelueschen, near Leigh, Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 1 p.m. and from the Loseke Creek Christ Lutheran church at 2 p.m. Rev. Kaiser, of Zion Lutheran church, Leigh, will officiate. The body will lie in state at the Henry Gass funeral home Tuesday forenoon. As Louisa Kumpf, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kumpf, she was born at Florence, Ohio, June 21, 1859. In her early youth she came to Platte county with her parents, the family home steading in the Shell creek community. On Oct. 23, 1877 she was married to Henry Grotelueschen, their wedding taking place in the Loseke creek church. They made their home on a farm 16 miles northeast of Columbus until the death of Mr. Grotelueschen on Nov. 19, 1912. After that time Mrs. Grotelueschen spent much of her time in the homes of her children, and during the last two years spent much of her time in the home of her son, Charles. She was mother of 10 children, of whom seven preceded her in death. Three sons survive--William and Charles, residing near Leigh and Henry, of Denver. She leaves also one sister, Mrs. William Bucher, of Columbus, two half sisters, Mrs. L. H. Leavy, of Columbus and Mrs. William Reese, of Kearney, three half-brothers, Henry Loseke, of Columbus; Louis Loseke, of the Loseke creek community, and August Loseke, of Columbus, and 11 grandchildren. Edwin Mehlhaff officiating. Mrs. Weihe was born Jan. 3, 1892, at Millard, and died Monday at Dodge Community Hospital after a lingering illness. She came to Fremont as a child and attended Fremont schools. She was a member of the First Congregational Church. She married Paul F. Weihe, a partner in Fremont Wool Co., Sep 28, 1908. He died in 1944. Survivors include one daughter, Frances Williams, and one son, Paul, both of Fremont; five grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; one sister, Marie Hawkins, Pinellas Park, Fla., and three brothers; Grover Kaelber, Payson, Utah; William, North Platte; and Jacob, Gordon.
