      CLARKSON -- Edward F. Mohnsen, 84, of Leigh died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, at
      BryanLGH Medical Center East in Lincoln.

      Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Leigh
      with the Rev. Mel Wiese officiating. Burial will be at the parish cemetery
      with military honors conducted by Sucha Post 302 of the American Legion.
      Visitation will be 3-7:30 p.m. today with a rosary at 7 p.m. at the church
      and 9 -10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

      Mr. Mohnsen was born Aug. 1, 1917, in Stanton County to Gustave and Anna
      (Siemal) Mohnsen. He attended Stanton County schools.

      He married Elizabeth Huismann on Feb. 18, 1941, in Leigh. After their
      marriage, they made their home on a farm northwest of Leigh. He was called
      into the Army in August 1942. He received his training at Camp Roberts,
      Calif. He was then at Camp Maxey, Texas, before going to the European
      Theatre. He was discharged in 1945 and returned to Leigh and moved to a farm
      north of town. They lived there until 1985 when they moved into Leigh.

      He was a member of the church and the American Legion Sucha Post 302.

      Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Elaine (Raymond) Jay of
      Woodinville, Wash.; one son, Eugene (Madonna) Mohnsen of York; seven
      grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters and two brothers.
      He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Eileen; one brother,
      Gus; an infant sister, Tina; and one sister, Anna.
