      Martha A. Mueller, 89, of Columbus, Nebraska died Monday, September 27, 2004 at the Beverly Healthcare in Columbus.

      The funeral service will be Thursday, September 30, 10:00 A.M. at St. Luke's United Church of Christ with Rev. Nancy Peebles officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in rural Columbus. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Thursday from 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. at the church with a family prayer service at 9:45 A.M.

      Martha Mueller was born March 19, 1915 in rural Leigh, Nebraska to Louis and Milla (Plugge) Lutjelusche. She attended rural school and later attended Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Nebraska. She married Hugo Muhle on November 27, 1936 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Shell Creek, rural Platte County, Nebraska. Hugo passed away on March 12, 1944. Martha married Edward Mueller on May 10, 1969 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Edward passed away on October 3, 2000.

      Martha moved into Columbus in 1944 from a farm north of Columbus. She worked at various jobs throughout her life, including Beatrice Foods and then Dale Electronics which she retired from in 1981 after 20 years. She was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ.
