Mildred M. Wurdeman, 77, of Columbus, Nebraska died Friday, August 16, 2002
at the Beverly HealthCare Center in Columbus.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, August 20, 2002, 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel
Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Richard Bringewatt officiating.
Interment will be at the Roselawn Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation will be
on Monday, August 19, 2002 from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Gass Haney Funeral Home
and on Tuesday, August 20, 2002 from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. at the church with a
family prayer service at 10:45 A.M.
Mildred M. "Millie" Wurdeman was born September 26, 1924 in Leigh, Nebraska
to William J. and Mathilda L. (Cattau) Korte. She attended school in Platte
Center, Nebraska. On February 12, 1945 she married Raymond W. Wurdeman in
Platte Center. Mildred worked in Columbus as a seamstress for many years at
Levine Brothers Clothing and then also at Schweser's. She also worked as a
bartender and at the Columbus Telegram. Millie spent a lot of time working
at home and raising her family. She served as past-president for the
American Legion Auxiliary and for TOPS. Mildred was also a member of the VFW
Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, where she received her "Mother Of The Year"
award, and treasurer for AAL for many years. At Immanuel Lutheran Church she
was active in the LWML and also the Evening Guild. Memorials may be given to
Immanuel Lutheran Church.
