      ALWINE LARSEN

      COLUMBUS- Alwine M. Larsen, 84, of Columbus died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at Columbus Community Hospital Inc.

      Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus with the Rev. Roland Jank officiating. Burial is at Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus.

      Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today at Gass Haney Funeral Home in Columbus and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. There is a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.

      Mrs. Larsen was born June 8, 1916, in rural Leigh to William J. and Mathilda (Cattau) Korte. She attended school in the Leigh area. As a young lady, she helped raise her younger brothers and sisters. She also hired out as a maid. She married Harold Larsen on Nov. 12, 1939, in Columbus. They moved to Idaho and lived there for four years. They moved back to Columbus in 1943.

      She was a member of the church, and was a member of the church choir for many years. She was a Cub Scout den mother when her children were young. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and baking.

      Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Claudia (Fred) Addison of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Connie (Bud) Sweet of Lincoln; two sons, Butch (Dorothy) Larsen of Columbus and Lonnie Larsen of Kearney; five sisters, Helen (Floyd) Campbell, Elsie (Martin) Wennekamp and Mildred Wurdeman, all of Columbus, Luetta Connelly of Arvada, Colo., and Gladys Van Gordon of Alhambra, Calif.; two brothers, Henry Korte of California and Oliver (Mable) Korte of Canon City, Colo.; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

      She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Ron Novicki; a son, Larry Larsen; three brothers, Herman Korte, Clarence Korte and Irwin Korte; and a sister, Elizabeth Korte.
