      From THE COLUMBUS (NE.) TELEGRAM, February 25, 2004-

      LEIGH - Terri Wietfeld, 44, of Leigh, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, of cancer, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

      Services are 1 p.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Leigh, with the Rev. Mel Wiese officiating. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Monday, with a 7 p.m. rosary, and continues from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today at the church. Burial is at the church cemetery.

      Mrs. Wietfeld was born June 16, 1959, in Sidney, to Lloyd Allen and Annette (Schnell) Juelfs. She attended school in Potter, and graduated from Potter High School in 1977. She then attended college for two years in Torrington, Wyo. She spent a semester in Oklahoma, a semester at Midland College in Fremont, and graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

      She married Kenny Wietfeld May 6, 1983, in Leigh. After graduating from college, she worked at Leigh Public Schools teaching business courses, coaching volleyball, was a mock trial coach, and the distance learning teacher. She initiated the Relay for Life in the Leigh area.

      She was a member of the church.

      Survivors include her husband of Leigh; three sons: Daniel Wietfeld of Norfolk, and Matthew and Jonathan Wietfeld of Leigh; one daughter, Tessa Wietfeld of Leigh; her mother, Annie Juelfs of Potter; one sister, Jennifer (Kevin) Thomas of Potter; and one brother, Lane (Donna) Juelfs of Potter.

      She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents; and two aunts.
