She also played trumpet in the band. After college and marriage she was a Sunday School Superintendent and taught elementary school in Moses Lake and Martin, WA. She helped start Boy Scout Troop #470 in Carnation and both of her sons later became Eagle Scouts. Prior to her death, she consented to a post-death organ donation.
