      From THE COLUMBUS (NE.) TELEGRAM, March 2, 2003-

      Esther P. Wurdeman, 94, of Columbus, Nebraska died Saturday, March 1, 2003
      at the Beverly Healthcare in Columbus. Services will be held at Immanuel
      Lutheran Church in Columbus on Friday, March 07, 2003 at 10:30 AM with Rev.
      Roland A. Jank officiating. Interment will be at the Leigh City Cemetery in
      Leigh, Nebraska at 1:30 PM on Friday. Visitations will be held at the Gass
      Haney Funeral Home on Thursday, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM and at Immanuel
      Lutheran Church on Friday, from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM. There will be a family
      prayer service on Friday at 10:15 AM at the church.

      Esther P. Wurdeman was born October 27, 1908 in Leigh, Nebraska to Wilhelm
      and Anna (Loseke) Hespe. She graduated from Leigh High School in 1927 and
      attended State Teacher's College in Wayne, Nebraska. She taught in Genoa for
      two years. She worked in the Rynearson bakery in Leigh until she married. She
      married Elmer Wurdeman, July 16, 1935 at Zion Lutheran Church in Leigh, the
      same church where she was baptized and confirmed.

      After her marriage, she worked for 15 years in her father's hardware and
      furniture store, Hespe Hardware in Leigh. She also worked and co-owned B&W
      Manufacturing, Co. of Columbus, a family owned business, since 1958.

      She resided in Leigh all her married life, moving to Columbus in 1982. She
      was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Leigh and currently a member
      of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus.

      During her life she was active in Walther League, Sewing Circle, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and was a member of the Zion choir in Leigh. In Columbus, she was an active volunteer of the Columbus Hospital Auxiliary.

      Esther P. Wurdeman, 94, of Columbus, Nebraska died Saturday, March 1, 2003
