From THE COLUMBUS TELEGRAM, July 13, 2001-
Ethel Loseke, 98, of Columbus, Nebraska, died, Wednesday, July 11, 2001 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus on Saturday, July 14, 2001 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Richard Bringewatt officiating. Interment will be at the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus.
Visitation will be held at Gass Haney Funeral Home on Friday, July 13, 2001 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM and at Immanuel Lutheran Church Columbus, NE on Saturday, July 14, 2001 from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM. There will be a family prayer service on Saturday at 10:15 AM at the church.
Ethel M. Loseke was born January 25, 1903 in West Hill, Nebraska to Elvin and Anna (Anderson) Hanson. She grew up in the West Hill community and graduated from Genoa High School in 1921. She then attended Kearney State College. Ethel taught school at District 39 in Nance County and also at Districts 81 and 10 in Platte County. On October 12, 1927 she married Edwin Loseke at her parents home North of Genoa. They farmed North of Columbus for 52 years before moving into Columbus in 1979. Ethel was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was active in the Country Ladies Aid. She also enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Son: Ed Loseke - Columbus, NE
Sister: Mae Christensen - Genoa, NE
Sister: Hazel Goering - Platte Center, NE
