CRESTON - Norris M. Groteluschen, 75, of Creston, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005 at the Faith Regional Medical Center in Norfolk.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Leigh, with the Rev. Terry Timm officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery with military honors by the Creston Pieper Post 306 American Legion Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Gass Haney Funeral Home in Columbus and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, with a 10:15 a.m. family prayer service, at the church.
Mr. Groteluschen was born Dec. 26, 1929, southwest of Leigh, to Charles and Elsie (Deyke) Groteluschen. He attended District 43 school in Colfax County and enlisted in the U.S. Army on Oct. 25, 1951, serving as a combat engineer during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on Oct. 24, 1953.
He married Margaret Cech June 2, 1955, at Leigh. They lived and farmed southeast of Creston. He was a member of the church and a former school board member of District 58 school. He enjoyed raising cattle.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Duane (Deline) Groteluschen, Jack (Leslie) Groteluschen and Mike Groteluschen, all of Creston, and Ron (Ronda) Groteluschen of Buffalo, Wyo.; two daughters, Charlene Svoboda of Columbus, and Lynelle (Duane) Byerly of Lincoln; two sisters, Paula Loeffler of Columbus and Norma Jean (Robert) Fillmer of Oakland; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Groteluschen and Lavern Groteluschen; and one sister, Vera Hellbusch.
