      Ernest E. Grotelueschen, 73, Rt. 1, Columbus, died Friday night at Clarkson Hospital, Omaha.

      Family prayer service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church preceding the 10:30 a.m. funeral rites there. The Rev. Martin Bornemann will officiate, with burial in Christ Lutheran Cemetery.

      The body lies in state at Gass-Haney Funeral Chapel, and will be at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

      A retired farmer, Mr. Grotelueschen spent his lifetime on the same farm north of Columbus. He was born Nov. 29, 1899 in Platte County to J. Adolf and Mathilda Wilke Grotelueschen. He attended District 15 and Christ Lutheran Schools.

      A lifetime member of Christ Lutheran Church, he was baptized there; confirmed in 1914; was a charter member of the church choir and sang continually with the group; also sang in the church quartet; was an organist and played in the church band; was a charter member of Walther League and Lutheran Laymen's League; served as chairman and treasurer of the voters assembly and was an elder of the church.

      He was also a charter member of the Apollo Club; served as treasurer of the District 15 school board; was a member of the Platte County ASCS committee.

      He married Irene Neemeyer, June 19, 1927 at St. John Lutheran Church, north of Columbus, and she died in August, 1931. Also preceding him in death were an infant child; his parents and step-mother, the former Katherine Finke.

      Surviving are six brothers and three sister: Arthur, Harold and Mrs. Fred (Elva) Gruenhage of Columbus; Paul of St. Louis; Rev. Elmer of Elgin, Ill.; Roland of Mankato, Minn.; Rev. Norman of Memphis, Tenn.; Mrs. E.A. (Clara) Buchholz of Chula Vista, Calif.; Mrs. Otto (Louise) Barjenbruch of Leigh; plus many nephews and nieces.
