Elroy E. Grotelueschen, 48, formerly of Columbus, died Sunday at his home on Old Cheney Road, Lincoln. He had been ill about two years.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church, 44th and Sumner, Lincoln, under the direction of Roper & Sons Mortuary. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Columbus, at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Charles Reimnitz will officiate.
The body will be taken from the mortuary to lie in state at church, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Elroy was born March 7, 1925 in Columbus to Ernst and Hilda Mueller Grotelueschen. He attended St. John Lutheran School, north of Columbus, and was graduated from Columbus High School. He was a resident of Columbus until 1955, then lived in Colorado Springs until moving to Lincoln in 1965. He was employed by Texaco, Inc.
Married to Betty Loseke, Aug. 3, 1949 at Grace Lutheran Church, Platte Center, he is survived by his wife; son, Randall, at home; mother, Mrs. Hilda Grotelueschen of Lake Worth, Fla.; two brothers, Melvin of Columbus and Arden of Urbana, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Alvin (Lola) Bargmann and Mrs. Darlene Mihulka, both of Denver; grandmother, Mrs. F.H. Mueller of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by three children, Cynthia, 3, Rodney, 11, and Lee, 20; his father; brothers, Norbert and Marlin.
