      From THE COLUMBUS (NE.) TELEGRAM, April 8, 2008-

      Marilyn Jeanne (Gloor), age 76 of St. Edward, NE passed away on Tuesday April 8, 2008. Marilyn was born February 10, 1932 to Walter T. and Alvine (Ehlers) Gloor Sr. in Grand Island, NE. She grew up in Albion, NE and graduated from Northeast High School in Lincoln NE. She later attended Platte College. She married Eldon L. Jacobsen on June 11, 1950 in Albion, NE and celebrated 57 years of marriage to which were born four children. They farmed outside of St. Edward NE. In addition to being a mother and wife, she worked as a bookkeeper for Farmer’s Union Gas & Oil in St. Edward, and after her retirement she worked at the Thriftyway Grocery Store in Albion, NE. She was active in her church teaching Sunday School and was a member of the women’s groups.

      She is survived by: her husband, Eldon (Jake) of St. Edward, NE; son, Tim & (Marcine) Jacobsen of Lake City, MN; son, Tom & (Joyce) Jacobsen of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Peggy Jacobsen and son, Paul & (Brenda) Jacobsen all of Omaha NE; a brother, Alvin & (Eunice) Gloor of Omaha NE, a sister JoAnn Knapp of Bella Vista, AR; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Jimmy, Jack and Walter.

      Visitation will be held Friday evening, April 11, from 6 – 8 pm, at the United Methodist-Presbyterian Church, St. Edward NE with funeral services, on Saturday April 12, 10:30 am. Following the funeral service, lunch will be served by the women’s group at the church.

      Memorials may be made to the St. Edward Public Library.
