From THE COLUMBUS (NE.) TELEGRAM, December 9, 2003-
ELKHORN - Harold Folken, 90, of Elkhorn, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at Elkhorn Life Care Center.
A family grave side service will be held at Columbus Cemetery with the Rev. Tim White officiating.
Mr. Folken was born March 19, 1913, in Leigh, to Walter and Clara (Schindler) Folken. He attended school in rural Colfax County and farmed for many years in the Leigh area.
On June 8, 1937, he was united in marriage to Marjorie A. Fajman in Leigh. He started the Harold Folken Contracting Company in 1956 and worked there until his retirement in 1983.
Mr. Folken was an usher at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus for many years. He enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include one daughter: Marge Bohling of Omaha; one son: Bob (Darlene) Folken of Estes Park, Colo.; one sister: Thelma Botsch of Columbus; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his wife and one brother: Merle Folken.
