      From THE COLUMBUS (NE.) TELEGRAM, December 14, 2001-

      Donna May Groteluschen, 74, of Leigh, Nebraska, died Wednesday, December 12,
      2001 at the Columbus Community Hospital, Columbus, Nebraska. Services are
      Saturday, December 15, 2001, at 10:30 A.M. at the Zion Lutheran Church in
      Leigh with the Rev. Terry Timm officiating. Interment is at the Zion
      Lutheran Cemetery in Leigh. Visitations will be held on Friday, December 14,
      2001 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Saturday,
      December 15, 2001 from 9:30 AM until service time at the church. There will
      be a family prayer service on Saturday at 10:15 AM at the church.

      Donna was born May 6, 1927 in rural St. Edward, Nebraska to Andrew and Mabel
      (Nelson) Andreasen. She attended rural grade schools and graduated from St.
      Edward High School at the age of 16. She received a teaching certificate and
      taught for one year at Boheet School south of Leigh, Nebraska. She then
      moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where she worked at a local drug store and the
      Federal Land Bank for 1.5 years taking the streetcar to work. She then
      attended Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Nebraska for one year to
      further her teaching degree. She returned to teaching at rural schools in
      St. Edward.

      She married Leo Groteluschen on September 24, 1948 at her parents home near
      St. Edward. They made their home together on the Groteluschen family farm
      near Leigh. After raising their children, Donna went back to the classroom
      as a teacher's aide at local schools around Leigh. For the past three years,
      she has been working as a dietary assistant at the Colonial Manor in
      Clarkson, Nebraska.

      Donna was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Leigh, held various
      offices in the local zone and district of the LWML, and was also a member of
      the Zion Ladies Circle. She was a member of the Merry Farmerettes Extension
      Club, served on the Creston Township Election Board and volunteered for the
      GED program in Leigh. She enjoyed family, cooking, sewing, crafts, bowling,
      and was an avid auctions goer. For many years she did the monogramming of
      the emblems for the Leigh High School Cheerleaders.
