      Josephine attended St. Joseph's Catholic Grade School; Kansas City, KS. where she was classes' Polish Valedictorian. She also graduated from Redemptorist High School; Kansas City, MO. and Dickinson Business School. She worked for O'Flarity-Norman Real Estate.

      Josephine taught her brother Stan to drive a car. He hit a gas pump so their father made her pay for the damage.

      In November, 1999, she underwent successful major surgery.

      In 2003, Jo sold her house and moved to a retirement home. She lost most of her eyesight.

      From THE KANSAS CITY STAR, January 31, 2006-

      Josephine B. Harn (Cyhel) passed away Saturday, January 28, 2006 at St. Joseph Health Center. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 A.M., Friday, February 3, 2006 at Cure' of Ars Catholic Church, 9405 Mission Road, Leawood, KS 66206. Entombment in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. Visitation will be 6-8 P.M. Thursday, Feb. 2nd at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, with rosary prayed at 7:00 P.M. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Church.

      Josephine was born May 19, 1915 in Kansas City, Kansas, the oldest of five children born to Joseph and Olga Cyhel. She graduated from Redemptorist High School and Business College. She worked at O'Flaherty-Norman Real Estate prior to serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, as a Personnel Specialist, where she met her husband of 49 years, Don, who preceded her in death in 1992.

      She was employed at Universal Underwriters for 20 years in the Workmen's Compensation Division. After retirement she worked as a volunteer in the Cure' of Ars Church office. She was also involved with the Churches Women's Club, Respite Care and Funeral Food Committees to name a few. She was an avid gardener and past member of the Johnson County Rose Society, having well over 100 rose bushes for which she won numerous trophies and blue ribbons. She came to be known as "the cake lady" because she created beautifully decorated 3 layer cakes, which she gave to friends and family for special occasions. She renewed friendships with old friends and made many new friends after moving to the Grand Court of Overland Park.

      Survivors include her daughter, Donna J. Amato and son-in-law, Les Amato of Overland Park, KS; grandson, Devin Amato, his wife Alina and great-granddaughter Ava all of Overland Park, KS; sisters, Rose Lohoefener of Overland Park, KS and Florence Cyhel of Kansas City, KS. She was preceded in death by brothers, Stan Cyhel and Dr. Walter A. Cyhel. She was "Aunt Jo" to several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews as well. (Arrangements by: D.W.
