Clara Kurpgeweit, 98, of Creston, Nebraska, died Monday, July 2, 2007, at the Butler County Health Care Center in David City, Nebraska.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 5 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Leigh, Nebraska, with Rev. Dr. Marsha Jark-Swain officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue on Thursday from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM at the church. There will be a family prayer service on Thursday at 10:15 AM at the church. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church
Clara Kurpgeweit was born August 8, 1908, in rural Platte County, Nebraska, to Henry and Anna (Schluntz) Brock. Clara attended school in rural Platte County. On September 23, 1930, Clara married Otto Kurpgeweit at St. Paul's Lutheran church, rural Leigh. They lived on the farm in rural Platte County where Clara was a homemaker and helped on the farm. In 1974, Clara moved to Leigh and later moved in with her granddaughter. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, and baking breads, pies, and rolls.

Daughter: Verna (Frank) Fischer of Stanton, NE
Daughter-in-law: Marilyn (Stanley) Settje of Creston, NE
