COLUMBUS - Marion L. Lusche, 74, died Friday, June 20, 2003, at the Columbus
Community Hospital.
Joint services for Marion and Lawrence Lusche are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St.
John's Lutheran Shell Creek Church of rural Columbus with the Rev. Peter
Jark-Swain officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in rural Platte
County.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at Gass Haney Funeral Home in Columbus and
9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday with a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the
church.
Mrs. Lusche was born June 16, 1929, to Emil and Alvina (Klug) Ahrens in
rural Columbus. She attended schools in Platte County and graduated from
Kramer High School in 1947.
She married Lawrence Lusche on Sept. 4, 1949, in Columbus. They lived on the
family farm since 1949.
She was a member of the church, where she was active in the Ladies Aid, a
member of the Followers of Christ, the Lamplighters Extension Club and the
Birthday Club. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, traveling and visiting
with friends.
Survivors include two sons, William (Rose) Lusche of Columbus and Jeffrey
(Sheila) Lusche, both of Columbus; a daughter, JoAnne (Craig) Marxsen of
Schuyler; two sisters, Jeanette Boothe of Shelton, Wash., and Joyce (Allen
"Doc") Runge of Columbus; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on June 17, 2003; her parents; an
infant son, David Lusche; and a granddaughter.
