      From THE COLUMBUS (NE.) TELEGRAM, July 14, 2009-

      Arthur Wilke, 90, of Osmond, Nebraska, (formerly of Columbus, Nebraska) died Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at the Osmond General Hospital.

      The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 10 at 11:00 AM at Christ Lutheran Church, rural Columbus, Nebraska, with Rev. Brad Birtell & Rev. Gary Trowbridge officiating. Interment will be at 10:00 AM (prior to the service) in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and will continue on Friday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church. Memorials are suggested to Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osmond, or the Osmond General Hospital.

      Arthur Wilke was born July 18, 1918 in rural Leigh, Nebraska to Herman "Rudolf" and Marie (Marty) Wilke. He was baptized, confirmed, and received his education at Christ Lutheran. Art married Georgia Frese on March 5, 1940 in Blair, Nebraska. In October, 1995 they moved to Osmond, Nebraska where they were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Art enjoyed flowers, especially gladiolas and woodworking.
