      CLARKSON - Dennis J. Schroeder, age 62 years, of Clarkson died Saturday, Oct 8, 2005, at Creighton Medical Center in Omaha.

      Funeral service for Dennis Schroeder will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Clarkson with Father Mel Wiese celebrating the Mass.

      Interment will be at Clarkson Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by Cornhusker Post 6419 of the VFW.

      Visitation for Dennis Schroeder will be on Monday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Monday at church. Visitation resumes Tuesday morning from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at church.

      Dennis was born on Oct 31, 1942, on the family farm north of Leigh to William and Elma Sedlacek) Schroeder. He attended school at Stanton county rural Dist 48 and then graduated from Clarkson High in 1961. He served in the Army from 1962 to 1964 and was stationed in Thailand. After the service he returned to the Clarkson area and met Karen Ernesti. They were married May 1, 1965, at St Aloysius Catholic Church at Aloys. They lived in Madison, West Point and Texas before settling on a farm west of Clarkson in 1977. Dennis farmed and also operated a maintainer for Colfax County for 29 years.

      He was a member of SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, and the VFW where he was active on the honor guard. Dennis enjoyed his Czech music and collecting antique toys.

      He is survived by his wife, Karen of Clarkson; two daughters: Sandra (Mrs Kurtis) Parks of Shawnee, Okla. and Diane Schroeder of Urbana, Ill.; two sons: Glen (wife Glori) Schroeder of Columbus and Ryan Schroeder of Fullerton; his mother Elma Schroeder of Clarkson; a brother Cornelius (wife Shirley) Schroeder of Norfolk; eight grandchildren.

      He is preceded in death by his father and an infant brother Delbert.

      Music provided by organist Annette Baumert and the church choir.

      Pallbearers: Russell, Ron and Gary Schroeder, Zachary Tunison, Anthony Anderson and Kurt and Kenny Gall.

      Honorary Pallbearers: Jacob, Elias, Shantel, Seth, and Chasity Tunison and Chris Anderson.

      Memorials are suggested to family choice.
