      From THE COLUMBUS (NE.) TELEGRAM, August 22, 2002-

      Arlo Runge, 64, of Columbus, Nebraska died Thursday, August 15, 2002 at his
      home. The funeral service will be Monday, August 19, 2002, 2:00 P.M. at St.
      John's Lutheran Church, Shell Creek with Rev. Peter Jark-Swain officiating.
      Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in rural Columbus with military
      honors by the American Legion Hartman Post # 84 Honor Guard. Visitation will
      be on Sunday, August 18 from 3:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home
      and on Monday, August 19 from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. at the church will a family
      prayer service at 1:45 P.M.

      Arlo G. Runge was born December 16, 1937 in Columbus, Nebraska to August G.
      and Adela A. (Siefken) Runge Sr. Arlo attended District # 2 grade school and
      graduated from Kramer High School in Columbus. He entered the the U.S. Army
      on September 22, 1961 and earned the Expert Badge with Bar (Rifle M-14), and
      the Good Conduct Medal. Arlo was honorably discharged on September 21, 1963.
      On September 28, 1963, he married Ingeborg Rosser in Columbus, Nebraska.
      Arlos' work with the railroad took him to Oregon and then to Idaho for many
      years. He returned to Columbus in 1993 and worked for Husker COOP. Arlo was
      a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Shell Creek, and enjoyed spending
      time with his family, especially his grandkids. He also enjoyed his yardwork
      and doing landscaping.
