      From THE COLUMBUS (NE.) TELEGRAM, August 5, 2003-

      LEIGH - Alice A. Deichmann, 90, of Columbus, formerly of Leigh, died Sunday,
      Aug. 3, 2003, at the Columbus Community Hospital.

      Services are 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church of Leigh
      with the Rev. Douglas Zurek officiating. Burial will be in the Leigh
      Cemetery.

      Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at Leigh Memorial Funeral Chapel at Leigh
      and continue on Wednesday for one hour prior to services.

      Mrs. Deichmann was born July 25, 1913 to George and Emma (Thalken) Reininger
      Sr. at rural Leigh. She attended District 20, rural Leigh in Colfax County.

      She married George H. Deichmann Feb. 7, 1934, at Leigh. They farmed south of
      Leigh until retiring to Leigh in 1969. She remained living in Leigh until
      moving to Cottonwood House in Columbus in April of 2002.

      She enjoyed crocheting afghans.

      She was a member of the church, the church guild, the Jolly Wilsonettes
      Extension Club, the Sunnyside Club, and the Dozen Card Club.

      Survivors include two daughters, Bernice (Gary) Busteed of Columbus and Mona
      (Wayne) Kubert of Lincoln; a sister, Adeline Brown of Leigh; four
      grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and eight
      step great-grandchildren.

      She was preceded in death by her husband on March 25, 1997; a sister,
      Katherine Wendt; two brothers, Fred Reininger and George Reininger Jr.; and
